That's the place to get to - nowhere.
One wants to wander away from the world's somewheres,
into our own nowhere.

Traverse to Pat-yay

Descent was a pleasant trek through a slippery mossy forest. It's a pity Tata Boy lost a used film containing the pictures he took since we started the trek. I lost the cap of my lens, but hey, that would only cost me Php450. Gradually, the trail turned tricky. I nearly fell face down a ravine, had I not used my face (of all things!) as a brake against a fallen log. Elsa (UPM) slipped also but miraculously managed to single-handedly grab a 1-foot stump. Almost everyone scored points slipping.

The rice terraces of Pat-yay are quite unique compared with other rice terraces I saw in the past. The boulders seemed bigger and the walls more solid. The houses in this village are not clustered in a village center but stood quite apart. We asked for the baranggay captain and a native pointed at the terraces, on the other side of a gorge, with a wild river running below.
